I have been driving EV’s for 7 years and treat their range expectations as a reasonable estimate but had an odd experience with my Macan 4 this week. I used the PCM navigation to find a location about 30 miles from my home. I noticed that the charge (SOC) at destination that is in the upper right panel of the navigation screen predicted a 5% higher SOC at the destination than the actual current SOC displayed in the dashboard. I did the navigation in the My Porsche app and it showed a battery charge that i would have estimated at the destination. I cancelled the PCM navigation and sent the MY Porsche travel plan to the car. The destination SOC displayed in the PCM was still 5% greater than my current SOC. After arriving at the destination, the navigation SOC estimate was unchanged and was now about 10% higher than the actual SOC. The actual SOC was what the My Porsche app predicted. I rebooted the car before my return trip with the same results. Seems weird.

Mine did exactly this in August for 2 weeks and then inexplicably returned to normal working.

After a week I called my dealer and had it booked in to be looked at but it returned to normal working on the day it went in. Dealer couldn't find any faults.

Same problem for me beginning of November.

Now it's the opposite; the estimated energy consumption for a trip has almost doubled....

I have an appointment on 1 December 1st at my dealer for the software update and to have this problem checked.

I got the software update yesterday and then went on a 55 mile errand. All good although no visual differences I can see in the various displays.

A few immediate observations though:
1. Speed limit detection now seems correct - including in locations it definitely wasn't before.
2. The Matrix headlights might be improved - I think it's switching to stronger beams more frequently than before.
3. Innodrive might be better at keeping in the lane on fast tight turns such as on motorway junctions.
4. Innodrive steering cuts out in the same places as before.

When you say switching to stronger beams, is that while dimming for oncoming cars? I've not got the update myself yet.

I've noticed while it's dimming segments for oncoming cars the strength of the otherwise lit segments is much lower than when the road is clear - then all zones fire up and the full strength is given, massive increase in light output. Truly awesome high beams! But assume that's the intended behaviour?

I might be wrong as I've only had one drive post update but my initial impression is that it is switching to the full beam more often/more quickly. Pre Update, I sometimes still had to manually switch to full beam on some dark/empty roads whereas now it's doing it automatically.

Great to hear, I've had the same experience but very infrequently need to override it. I just put the tardiness down to generally all high beam assist systems being a bit pants.

Now if you told me they lowered the high beam activation speed from 38mph, I would book the update immediately!

Updated last week, still 38mph activation speed……. A pain on the single/ one and a half track country roads
