Porsche Macan EV seats vs Taycan seats

I was at the dealership the other day and tested out the 14-way seats in the ICE Macan, electric Macan, and Taycan. I think they were all mid-level trims if that makes a difference, but the seats were all 14-way.

I found the electric Macan seats to be the most comfortable in my opinion. What shocked me though was how "snug" the Taycan seats were in the thigh bolsters. They really pinched, and I felt like I couldn't drive it for longer than 30 minutes without some discomfort.

I'm not small - 5' 11" and about 225lbs. But I had no issues with either Macan. Are the Taycan 14-way seats really that much more snug? As far as I could tell, you can't adjust the leg bolsters in those, right? Only the 18-way? Or is Taycan different and maybe someone snugged them up too all the way? haha.

Or maybe Porsche is telling me I need to lay off the donuts and ice cream.

They are. I have both and completely agree that the Macan seats are far more comfortable (and the electric Macan is more comfortable than the ICE!). I am smaller than you (5'8", 140#) so it's not just because you're a big person.

Just lease a CPO with 18-way seats. Problem solved!

I have both and both with the 18 way. The Taycan is more “buckety” and supportive. The Macan is more cushy and comfortable but the headrests do not adjust at all.

I shopped for 14-way seats the same way you did and reached similar conclusions. My Macan EV has 14-way seats without the massage function.

Some people claim the 14-way seats with the massage function are stiffer. I didn't reach a conclusion about that.

Just lease a CPO with 18-way seats. Problem solved!

Oh! Wow, I didn't even think of that. lol! Assuming those 18-way seats expand enough to pack in my meaty thighs, that's a great solution!

I’ve had them on 3 different Porsches, and they seem to fit everyone well. Good hunting!
