Hi,

I’ve never looked at this before, but I noticed on my 2 month old Macan EV rear wiper arm has texture on the top. Is this normal? Or is it a defect from factory?

thanks

That does not look normal to me. Was the car parked close to an area that generated a lot of heat next to the wiper? I don't believe the sun alone could that. If you touch the blade, does it feel solid or it's soft?

Blade feels normal. No wasn’t parked anywhere near heat.

That's very strange.

Upon asking AI, it says it can withstand +158F to -40F. So there could be a defect in the rubber compound itself.

If there is a defect in the rubber compound, even the sun's UV rays can affect it when exposed to the sun for an extended period, like at the dealer's lot. I would take it back to your dealership and ask them to replace it under warranty. Although your car is relatively new, we don't know how long the vehicle was parked outside for an extended period. It could have been for over a month or two, and UV rays on a wiper blade made from a batch of defective rubber compound would not be able to withstand that. Or maybe it was a combination of UV rays, and harsh detailing products that are acidic (soaps and waxes) that touched the defective rubber blade.

Um, it's not the wiper blade rubber but the wiper arm cover judging by the picture.

You're absolutely correct. I used the wrong word. But it's still a defect/quality issue with the material.

hey, I brought it to the dealer today and they have never seen this happen, except on cayennes. They are replacing it under warranty.
