This morning, I received a welcome email from Porsche notifying me that photos of my Macan Turbo were available in the My Porsche app. As many of you know, Porsche often, though apparently not always, provides factory production line photos of custom order cars at two or three stages. When they do provide photos there should always be a photo of the painted body by itself and sometimes, they show the pre-paint bare steel body and the chassis before the body is joined to it.
Although the app was showing my car was built and loaded on a train or truck for the trip to the port of Emden, I hadn’t received any photos and had really been looking forward to seeing them – especially because it is a PTS order for Parliament Grey – a color I’ve never seen in the wild and, until only a month ago, even seen on any Porsche, let alone a Macan EV.
I asked my SA if he had any access to production images, but he said dealerships didn’t, so I called Porsche North America and spoke with a very helpful customer service representative who said he would investigate and get back to me. The next day, he said he’d spoken with someone in Germany, who’d asked about the color. I described the color and gave him the option number so he could review images of cars produced in the timeframe. This morning, he confirmed that they had found pictures of my car and they put them in the app. I was impressed by the rep’s positive attitude and how quickly he and his colleagues responded to my request!
