How long before build do you start getting updates?

My Macan 4 is due to be delivered in early March, according to my sales rep.

I’ve downloaded the MyPorsche app - and the dealer has been given the relevant email address. How long before I get status updates about my order on the app, as apparently that’s where they’ll proactively put them?

As my order was placed back in July, you can assume that I’m getting very impatient!

Ordered 19th August for a 4S.

Got access to TMD mid November when a build slot was issued. App showing no further updates due until WK1 when spec is locked and WK4 for build to commence.

If you’ve not had anything, worse case you’ve no build slot allocated, best case they mislabelled your email address.

Edit: just checked mine and my build has slipped four weeks to build WK8

What’s your status? I assume your specs are locked, pre production started and actual build starting around mid January. Took about a month from build to custom clearance UK for mine. Port to dealer varies a lot but would prepare for 2 weeks wait.

MIne was built last week of March and was at my UK dealer 3rd week of April (somewhere around 21st if I recall correctly). I took delivery a week later.

Same issue for me with PTS. Order in August, nothing in the app, no updates or production date from dealer. I was told January delivery initially at purchase, now being told April. I was told that they were trying to get me a slot in March production, but it's been over a month since that and they are still waiting for corporate to schedule it.

I managed to secure a build slot on the day I ordered, so Track Your Dreams was fully live and up to date from day one — great to follow the whole process.

Milestone 3 (“Now the work can begin”) actually landed a week or two earlier than expected, which was a nice surprise.

As others have said, once it hits the port the timeline can wobble a bit — mine sat there for about two weeks.

Huge credit to the dealer though, they prepped the car within a day of receiving it. Brilliant service.

Once you get a build slot, you should get an email with a link.

You can get this without a VIN, that’s likely to be assigned later on.

Milestone 1 is simply the dealer submitting/receiving your order, and Milestone 2 is the lock date.

The car doesn’t get a VIN until much later in the process, so that won’t be the reason Track Your Dreams isn’t active yet.

In my case, TYD went live as soon as the order was allocated to my Porsche account.

It might just be a case of asking your dealer to link/allocate the order to your account
