We took our first long trip in the Macan4 last week...had the car over a year and a half, doing most local trips. Drove from OC to Cambria. Charged to 100% the night before and started with an estimated range of 330miles. My idea was to recharge at the Madonna Inn as I know there is a large bank of Tesla chargers there. However, as I found out, these chargers were not set up to be used by non-Tesla cars...I didn't know that was a thing. A nice Tesla guy was helpful figuring this out with me. So looking at the Tesla app, there were a number of other sites that showed up, some near the local Porsche dealer. I paid the dealer a visit and they offered to let me charge there. They had a lot of nice cars there so the 20 min. charge time went really fast. Problem solved for now.

On the way back, I came back through the same area and this time tried one of the other Tesla spots, which worked fine...not as fast as the Porsche one, ~45 min. for 90%.

Range overall was very good. I was mostly in the low 70's and ended the trip at 28kWh/100mi., which is great. This trip has a lot of rolling hills so I could milage going up and down pending the slope...plus the LA stop and go on the 405. Overall very pleased with the battery performance.
Image shows the ending screen when I got home (from a 90% charge).

If you were trying to use a Tesla Level 2 resort charger, the adapter that Porsche sent us is for Tesla DC fast charging. I think you need a separate Tesla Level 2 adapter.

A lot of the UK Tesla chargers are now available for non-Tesla use in the UK.
tried one for the first time last night and worked very well using the Tesla app.

Did you need an adapter for this or can you just plug straight in.?

@BruceS2 was trying to use a fast charger, not a resort charger.
There are three Tesla superchargers in San Luis Obispo. The Madonna in one of course is the most famous but is an older unit and not CCS capable. The Porsche dealership of course is the best deal as it’s free, the Costco that is right across from the Porsche dealership has 10 Electrify America chargers, the target that is right next to the Porsche dealership has a Tesla supercharger behind it that is open to the public. I live 20 minutes from this location, so I’m reasonably familiar with all of the charging facilities nearby.

Related to discussion on UK charging, Europe (the EU) forced Tesla to use CCS2 for the charge port as they forced Apple to use USB-C for their charging port. I know that the UK is not part of the EU, they are just benefiting from the localization.

Interesting reading.

I completed my first longer trip around the UK this week, around 650 miles over the last two days. I averaged 2.7 kWh (4S, 22s, regen off), and found charging generally easy when it worked (though I would suggest an infratctusrue rather than a vehicle issue). I was impressed by the onboard planner and did not find that battery preheat significantly reduced range, which had been my experience in a Taycan.

Interestingly, the range consistently showed around 230 miles, which seems low given 2.7 kWh consumption and a circa 100 kWh battery.

Brief overview of charging experience.

First charge, Porsche Swindon. Seamless plug and charge connectivity, peaked at 160 kW on a shared charger. Free coffee while talking myself out of a Spyder RS.

Second charge, Ionity West Brom. Arrived to find the entire network down with no notification on the planner. I had 30 miles of range remaining and made it to the next location.

Third charge, Ionity Walsall. Plenty of availability, hit 276 kW and held well. Added 60 kWh in 18 minutes. Phone struggled to connect but the charge card worked.

Fourth charge, unknown third party in Manchester. Used the charge card service successfully. 11 kW AC.

Fifth charge, Ionity Leeds. Planner showed 1 of 6 chargers available but none were free on arrival, which was misreported. I was running behind and had to leave.

Sixth charge, MFG Leeds. Planner showed 3 of 6 chargers available but again none were free on arrival. Misreporting again and I was running even more behind so had to leave.

Topped up on AC between sith and seventh on my one of my sites.

Seventh charge, Gridserve Grantham. Took some time to set up and I had to move the car three times to find a charger that would interact. It did not like the charge card or the phone initially, but once running it hit around 270 kW and held well, with similar performance to Ionity.

Awaiting a quote from Charles & Dean for funding 😬

You mind sharing your spec? This was black with Weissach
Ha, brilliant!
Mine is Vanadium with red interior/stitching/decals, Weissach, buckets, partial bonnet, neodyme wheels, ceramics, front-axle lift, full PPF. To be honest, any spec is absolutely mega, now seems a great time to get into one, and only a couple of new ones available. I came the other way - got into the Macan by virtue of hanging around dealers too much, lol.
Feel free to DM me for any other info.

I'm new to this, but did you realize you can change the 'kWH/100mi' to 'miles/kWH'? I think it's a much easier to understand metric. 3.3miles/kWH is good. 4 is the best I've seen in 35-40mph city traffic. I get about 2.8miles/kWH at 90mph on the interstate.
My wife and I are driving from Atlanta to Niagra Falls next week. We've taken two weeks off and are going on a Grand Boondoogle! ;-)
I have the Porsche adapter for the Tesla supercharger as well as the Tesla A/C adapter and have also verified my Plug-n-Charge account on a Tesla Supercharger as well as Electrify America. HOWEVER, every one of our hotel stays is at a Hilton or Marriott property w/ on-site charging for free. I'm goint to keep track of how much we spend on the entire trip for electrons!
