When you say “all good on the fuses”, did you install the 2 fuses required to complete the circuit to the power plug?

10amp in the frunk and 5amp in the passenger footwell are the 2 new fuses.

"all good with the fuses" is just referencing that there were no blown fuses.

Since then I found the fuse location for the dash cam preparation in the frunk. See the red fuse in the photo.

I found the one other location in the passenger footwell to put another fuse. I don't know what that fuse location is used for. But there are contacts on both sides for a fuse. What is the 5 amp in the passenger footwell for Tom?

The documentation for installing the OEM camera earlier in this thread shows the locations to put these 2 fuses, and you can be sure they are only used for the dashcam.

Here's the post that references the Porsche docs: https://www.macanevowners.com/forum...on-issues-fuse-box-location.17100/post-276977

The 10amp in the frunk fuse box for the ACC connection and is switched - and it goes off when the car does, not 30 minutes later.

The 5amp in the passenger footwell is for continuous power and is not switched.

My dashcam hardware detects when the car is off for Parking Mode and uses the continuous power at a lower amps for that, switching off entirely when the voltage drops too much.

That red fuse and fusebox -- it's really hard to reach, at least without dismounting the whole frunk container tray.
Did you have a way to get in there?

Luckily, the red fuse is situated in the easiest part of the fuse box to reach without removing the whole thing. You might need to re-tuck the rubber frunk surround when putting it back together, but snapping off the cover and opening the box gave enough access.

My installer did the work, and this wasn’t the trickiest part. Getting the lid off was easy, putting it back on involved pulling out the rubber surround enough to get access.

Does anyone know where the fuse box is in Macan EV Turbo? My dashcam installation guy could not locate it so I was told it is impossible to install it. Has anyone got it installed already? Please share your experience. Thanks.
I have a Viofo 229 Pro (front and rear cameras) which was installed by a very respected and experienced installer in Houston Texas. Despite a thorough search in the car, my installer could not find a switched power source. Ultimately, the connection was made to an OBD port device that monitors the 12 V battery. I have dash cam power while driving, but when parked for a long time, the dash Cam will switch off to conserve the 12 V battery. I usually manually turn off the dashcam when parking in my garage and when I am leaving from work, the dash cam has already powered off and I manually power on the dashcam.

Just replied to another fuse location request - under the hood RHSide fuse 2 needs a 5 amp thats the ACC 12 volts that goes to the Dash Cam harness in the overhead panel

Porsche documentation says 10 amp. 5 amp fuse is for the passenger footwell location

https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2024/MC-11011672-0001.pdf

Edit: 5 amp is probably ok for third-party dash cams, but there may be a reason that the Porsche dash cam needs 10 amps here, where the Battery fuse (E12) only requires 5 amps. The Viofo Hardwire kit I used outputs a max of 2 amps at 5v so is unlikely to trouble a 5 amp fuse at 12v for ACC.

It's 10 amp for fuse 1, right? It looks like fuse 2 might be for the rear camera wiring?

I wish they would just freakin' document these things. It's not like it's state secrets or anything...

Fuse A1 in the frunk is 10 amp for the switched 12v wire in the harness

Fuse E12 is 5 amp for the un switched 12v wire in the harness.

if you want Parking Mode, you will need both fuses installed (at least for my Viofo) to enable both 12v wires
