We have a new Macan 4s EV.
We charge it at home using a Zappi charger andvan Ovo electricity account. We use the Zappi app and the Ovo app and the Porsche app to schedule an overnight charge.

The problem we have had is that we set it up correctly but them we find that the Porsche app has put up a pop up message saying that we want to end the charge time at some random future date. The result is that it also halts the charging. In the morning we find that the EV is only partially charged.

We reported this to Porsche but they haven't yet fixed the problem.

The temporary solution is to delete the Porsche app and just use the other two apps to charge at home.
When charging on the road we reinstall the Porsche app so that we can use the Porsche discount card at the charger and the mapping app.

Not a Porsche problem to fix!!

My guess is that you are using too many apps to control things and they will inevitably conflict.

Best practice is to use ONE app and to discard the others. Typically I'd recommend using the My Porsche App exclusively for all programming of timers, charging, preconditioning etc BUT if you are on a special tariff and have to use the Zappi app then use that to control all charging requirements (disable the My Porsche charging specific ones and use it for everything else). If no special tariff then disable all programming on your Zappi and use My Porsche app exclusively.

Search this forum - many people use Zappi (I don't) and have special tariffs etc.

Do not uninstall the My Porsche app - that is just nuts and plain daft (sorry). Depending on the above all you need to do is to disable any and all timers pertaining to charging and leave the rest and use as needed as they don't relate to charging.

I should have said that we have wrestled with this problem for weeks, trying every combination. It needed the Zappi app and the Ovo app to work at all. The Porsche app alone couldn't do it. Adding the Porsche app messed it up because it wanted to force another charge end time over the one chosen.

I was sharing our temporary solution with anyone in this situation. If you don't think this is the right thing to do then that's fine, but it works for us.

It's just an unnecessary step and not required by other members of this forum with the same setup as you - is my point.

Guarantee that if you disable any charging programming on my Porsche App that it won't interfere with your other 2 apps (and I'm pretty sure you only need one of those - Ovo most likely).

I have the Porsche EVSE and used OVO Charge Anytime - only ever used the Ovo app as Ovo could (then talk directly to the car rather than the EVSE (wall charger)). This has changed in recent months with the introduction of Ovo Charge which can talk to the car (Macan is on the list) or to a specific EVSE (Zappi models are on the list).

Basic premise is that if on a rate saving tariff from Ovo / Octopus then you are essentially obligated to use their app and have a Smart Meter in place - Ovo will 'talk' to Zappi (models 2.1 or Glow) if setup correctly thereby negating the requirement to use multiple apps and remove / reinstall another. See guidance on "Managed Mode" below (Zappi requirement and My Porsche App requirement):

Did you remember to onboard your Zappi to Ovo by linking?

At the end of the day I'm trying to help simplify what can be a drama for some.
