There is no obvious reason for it. I have tried to be helpful by sharing this experience, and to express a view that this is a fault that Porsche should fix. I have nothing more to say about this.
No fabrication here. The improbable scenario I describe happens every time we travel South on the M2. Near to the Gravesend area the Adaptive Limiter switches from 70 to 30 mph and slams on our brakes. No signs are visible at this point.
But you assert that it will never do this - so we must...
A speed limiter is a simple feature on many cars. By making it adaptive to the current speed limit makes it much more useful.
When the small print says be attentive, it is referring to normal hazards, like someone stepping into the road in front.
A normal user would not expect it to mean "If...
Interesting to read the replies to my posting about a fault that could be cured with software. Thank you!
Interesting that some people accept that it is OK to buy an extra on a car and then keep it switched off because it doesn't work properly and could be dangerous.
Good for Porsche to think...
If this feature caused an accident, potentially with fatalities, the judge is not going to say 'This is not a fault. You should have turned it off".
It is a serious issue for Porsche and it is cured by making the software deal with this case intelligently when it arises (whether it is trees...
Our Macan EV 4S has a useful Auto Speed Limiter which adaptively sets maximum speed to the road speed.
It is a great feature which ensures you don't exceed the speed limit.
However, it often sets a speed which makes no sense and is dangerous.
A common one is on a motorway it can suddenly switch...
No departure time was set in the Porsche app. The issue is that the app itself after a time puts up a box with a departure time in the future which stops the charging. If you delete it it later puts up another one. It looks like a software fault.
I should have said that we have wrestled with this problem for weeks, trying every combination. It needed the Zappi app and the Ovo app to work at all. The Porsche app alone couldn't do it. Adding the Porsche app messed it up because it wanted to force another charge end time over the one...
We have a new Macan 4s EV.
We charge it at home using a Zappi charger andvan Ovo electricity account. We use the Zappi app and the Ovo app and the Porsche app to schedule an overnight charge.
The problem we have had is that we set it up correctly but them we find that the Porsche app has put up...
