Charging info in the My Porsche App does not update anymore

Since 2 days my Porsche App doesn't update anymore.
Porsche Store told me to reinitialize everything. The problem with that is that all the trip infos will be lost.

Has someone a better idea.

Glad I’m not the only one with this problem. I have constantly sent reports (I assume to Germany) but never receive a reply. Eventually had a helpful telephone call with a senior manager at Porsche UK and we deduced that as I live in the countryside where the phone signal is very weak (one bar or sometimes none) then the App cannot connect with the car when there is no signal and so is not updated. There can be no shortcut using my home WiFi. There appears to be no solution for this. When the car is receiving a signal then it all works (preconditioning etc.)

Its a pity they can't offer to use a different network provider. Its a shame they have cheaped out and gone with vodafone

You can but be careful if you use CarPlay, setting up the car to connect to your home wifi tends to mess up the CP connection. It's been reported in several threads.

I've had to delete my home connection to gain back access to CP.

I have the same issue. All data syncs, bar the battery charge level. I have a good phone signal near my car.

I don’t think remote area is the only issue because I don’t live in a remote area with bad cellular signals and my app hasn’t been working for the past 5 days. I’ve tried everything including deleting app and reinstalling it. Nothing works. The car when parked at home it is connected to my home wifi and it still doesn’t update. I can no longer control my car’s departure time or charging points through my app, I have to go into the vehicle to make changes. Can’t see where my vehicle’s location is either. It’s super annoying. Honestly I’ve had so many issues with this car and Porsche can’t seem to figure out what is wrong. Their software is full of glitches and bugs. Error messages keep popping up randomly on my dashboard while driving. Sometimes as I am reversing, the car puts my car on Park on its own, multiple times. So it parks, then I put it back on reverse, then it parks it again as soon as I start to reverse, and so on. I’m having to shutdown the car, re-enter before it stops putting the vehicle on park every time I start to reverse. And it’s embarrassing when people are watching me inch back multiple times, and get out of the car, then back in. I’ve taken the car back to Porsche for them to pull error codes and at one point it had over 100 error codes that were not ā€œactiveā€. But still, they can’t figure out what the hell is wrong and don’t have a fix. The best they gave me was ā€œwait for the next software updateā€. Geez, that’s like not helpful at all and super frustrating. So while my car is still under warranty it’s all good and dandy, but once the car is out of warranty, then every time the same problems happen, I’ll be shit out of luck and will have to pay for them to ā€œdiagnoseā€ the problem, which I suspect they won’t know how to fix. I expected better from Porsche. Only good thing about the car is how well it drives. Car play is glitchy as well. Doesn’t always connect. Oh and my data pass keeps getting used up within days of resetting in the last few months. Now, I can’t even retrieve the data pass on the pcm to see how much data I have left. I am in Canada and I should have 3GB of data every month for 10 years. When I first got the vehicle, I would barely use maybe 500MB tops. So it’s odd something uses up the data that quickly. At first I thought maybe the hotspot is using up data, so I forgot the network on my phone and other devices. But my phone keeps connecting to it despite having forgotten the network, which is weird. Regardless, my phone is constantly on low power mode (It’s automated to always be on low power mode as long as it’s on) so it never refreshes unless I’m using the apps on my phone. Anyway, enough of my rant šŸ˜‚ Glad it worked out for you though. Hopefully they fix my issues soon.
