I've lost count of the number of glitches in my Turbo, from false seat belt unfastened warnings, to windows opening randomly, to incorrect time displayed on the PCM, to charging errors. It's simply not good enough. I was considering a lower powered Macan for my wife to replace the C-Class, but...
While these things may be true, the reason for the small extensions is because regulations do not permit wheels to extend beyond the edge of the bodywork.
I had the same problem in Holland. I've also had an issue with crossing the Belgian/French border from France towards Belgium, and it putting the clock back one hour.
I just chalk it up to one of the many glitches with the car. It's getting quite tiresome.
The people more likely to switch to EVs are the very people who are most likely to avoid buying Teslas due to Musk's politics. Not very smart, really.
I was in the market for a Tesla Model 3, as it's very difficult to look elsewhere when it comes to replacing my wife's MB C-Class, but I now...
Just an update to this. I had two drives a couple of days ago where the "seat belt unfastened" warning was on the entire journey despite my seat belt being fastened. I bought a can of WD-40 contact cleaner from my local DIY store, and sprayed a generous amount into the female seatbelt buckle...

I'm continuing to have the "seat belt unfastened" warning when I drive (and yes, my seat belt is fastened). Sometimes it doesn't come on at all. My last drive it was on the whole time. It's extremely annoying.
You've misunderstood what is meant by "policing the replies". You made a statement saying Digital Key was the reason your wife chose a BMW. I thought this was odd to base a purchasing decision on a single option, and an innocuous one at that. So I replied and stated that. But you didn't like it...
And we're back to square one...
Nobody forced you to disclose that your wife ruled out a Cayenne because it didn't have a digital key. It was your choice, and you don't get to police the replies.
This is a discussion forum. If you don't want people to comment then don't share. ?
Were the other reasons a secret at this point? Your post was deliberately worded to imply that it was such a big deal that it resulted in a lost sale for Porsche. You wanted a bigger impact from your post. The reality it seems is there were several factors that influenced your wife's decision...
It's not about being "elitist". CarKey is such an inconsequential option in the grand scheme of things yet you said it was the sole reason you didn't order the Porsche. However...
...you've now pivoted from your original post which said: "When my wife needed a new daily driver, the Cayenne's...
The erroneous reports happen all the time. Only last week, the Daily M*il and The S*n reported that the car that caught fire in the Heathrow Tunnel was an EV, when in fact it was a diesel.
Having had two Taycans before my Macan Turbo, I would say the Macan charges slightly quicker than the Taycans, even though on paper they should charge at roughly the same rate.
Not speaking specifically about the Macan, but in my experience of all major manufacturers over the last 15 years, rarely is the speed limit recognition 100% reliable to the point I don't ever rely on it.
Why? The configurator visualises it for you. What I did was explain in words, briefly, what the differences are as the person I was replying to wasn't sure.
