There are not many car companies that can or are willing to OTA update more than simple radios or GUI. The Macan's architecture update is a major one that I don't think any car company could accommodate OTA, or be willing to. OTA updates have been know to brick other manufacture's cars, which...
You were told to hod off because the shops were bricking modules. Porsche rewote the procedure and there hasn't been reports of that since. Basically they need to make sure the car stays powered on.
You probably won't get another letter but may get a reminder from your dealer.
My 4S seems to be inconsistant, but slightly smoother after the update.
It won't use regen during the first mile or so after start up
If you think it has something to do with the pads, any heavy braking will burn contaminants off the pads and wipe the rotor. You don't have enogh regen to...
Do they still count feature upgrades or optional improvements against reliability? What about safety inspections that discover maybe .001% of the inspected cars have a defect needing repair?
Models that get continuous improvements (not bug fixes) used to get docked significantly more than...
I may be confusing with third party planners, but I think you can set preferences to avoid all EA chargers or use only x,y,z brand chargers. But that may be counter productive where there are not enough Rivian stations.
I dunno. is it practical to drive around without a rear facia. Can they throw a spare facia on it?
Seems to be plenty of members here that use PFF without issue.
I wouldn't think many service techs understand RADAR.
Thickness of paint has really no affect on RADAR performance at these...
I've owned a couple cars with side radars and don't recall blind spot false positives or missing a detection short of operator error. And this included plenty of rain or dirt or nasty weather. Those systems that augment with video can be more susceptible. I don't know if the Porsche blind spot...
It is a common misconception that those little sensors are more than parking distance sensors. Blind spot primarily uses the RADARs behind the rear bumper facia which, in theory, could be affected by metallic paint. Lane keep and accident warnings use the cameras, primarily the front facing ones...
You may want to try turning regen off completely (coast mode) to better control/predict deceleration. I have a steep driveway and in slippery conditions we always slowly coast down in neutral using only braking.
Years ago, driving a high compression engine in a manual transmission RWD car...
My 4S has been very good in the snow. I have a steep winding driveway and have not had issues with it. But then I have a driving style that gets open diff 2WD cars into places other can't get their 4x4s to. The 4S has the OEM 20 inch Pirelli all season tires on it. I mostly use the truck on...
I was out on the highway today and for the first time since the update I noticed that blind spot was not working. Weeks ago I saw an assist system error without description for a moment but otherwise no errors reported. I cleaned up all the cameras but I think blind spot/rear collision warning...
Yeah, in the assistance screen, when you click on the CC mode banner on top you seem to get the same menu as the button push containing the ACC off option . It should work the same but I haven't tried it. The assistance screens change when in motion, however, and some options not available.
I used to switch from adaptive to dumb and back often, I'll have to review the steps again. I think they were posted here months ago.
I think you press the button at the end of the CC stalk until the assistance mode is displayed on one of the cluster tubes. You can then toggle adaptive on and...

Looks like the software update fixed these reports in my case..
Sport plus lowers ride height? Lower is more aerodynamic, sometimes significant mileage improvement at highway speed..
For me there are very specific conditions where OPD is useful, but it otherwise requires much more concentration to drive smoothly. My spouse often mentions how much less head...
