I spoke to Porsche Customer Service in the UK today. They said that whilst having a non-Porsche tracker fitted or dashcam wouldnāt invalidate the warranty, any electrical issue may be said to stem from the non-Porsche equipment and then the warranty wouldnāt cover the issue.
I think that whilst...
If they charge £ 900 to fit with prewiring what would they charge without it !
Iāve just done a quick search and back in 2017 Porsche Reading was found to be the most expensive dealer, charging Ā£ 234 /hr
Mine is Colchester. I asked the sales guy about getting a copy of the very detailed tracking sheet. He said that I am afraid we are under strict instruction not to share this with customers. If his centre / centre principle were aware he was sharing this he would be in a rather sticky situation.
Where did you get that from - did the dealer provide it. My only source of info is the App and itās certainly not that detailed. Have you asked for collection mid-March as the car looks to be sat at the dealers for a month.
In Europe and the UK the law states. A speedo must never show less than the actual speed, and must never show more than 110% of actual speed + 6.25mph. So at say 70 mph, it can never be less but could be so inaccurate it could comply by reading 7 + 6.25 + 70=83.25 !
To ensure that they comply...
I had excellent front & rear cameras fitted by a Lexus dealer with no pre-wiring and it cost £ 450 for them to supply & install. I mention this as Lexus dealers certainly know how to charge.
I think our cars will be shipped together. My next āstepā is on the way and thatās the 30th to the 2nd Feb and the spread between the dates has narrowed
in the same way I don't like how the electric logos on the front fenders cannot be deleted. I don't want to necessarily announce to the world that I drive an electric car and isn't it obvious enough that it's a Porsche? I will leave the rear light strip logo black and first order of business...
tonmjw - my 4S has gone into production today - 5 days early. Have you or the company buying the car recād an email confirming your car has achieved one of the āstepsā
Many thanks for the confirmations. I was querying it as previously when buying Mercās, a BMW and Range Rover I tried to get the Vin early to download the correct manual and they were never available until the car was on its way. As it is, it seems having the vin means it really is being readied...
Has everyone that got the email and then saw the cars details in the App also have a VIN. Iām really puzzled how I can have a VIN but the car doesnāt go into production until next week ?
I think the manufacturers are making the āsafetyā systems more intrusive to ensure they get the best safety certification. I watched a review of the new (to the UK) Volvo EX30 and the car went a little over the line and it slammed the brakes on - the reviewer said the car was totally unsafe to...
In my UK App it opens on the screen with a Discover Current Phase - when you select this it will display a map with the location, scroll down and then there is a selection bar for Discover all steps. This then gives you a screen of the dates āspreadā for each of the steps from initial order...
It must have been the dealer or Porsche - I didn't do anything - it appeared. I go into vehicle and my car is there, I then go into Discover Current Phase. I get the map showing an icon at Leipzig but up the top I have ''Order Information' and I select that and a screen comes up with the...
I was really impressed - within a couple of hours of finalising the spec the car appeared in the app with the order details listing all the options. As I said, I now have a VIN !
neilJ007 - in the app what are your dates for build, ship and at the dealers. I jumped the queue by changing from a 4 to a 4s as someone cancelled the 4s. My date for production is 27th Jan with a delivery to the dealers of between the 10th Feb and 12th March.
Iām puzzled that I have a VIN a...
I followed the link to the Porsche dashcam and saw that it says that the acoustic / heat glass may cause interference with GPS reception, resulting in incorrect or non-existent display of position and/or speed
Has anybody with the acoustic glass had the Porsche or any other dashcam fitted and...
