from Porsche's own Press release…emphasis mine…they only missed their original time line by about 1/2 year
and this change was not required to have access to all these chargers - you just had to have a free easy to setup chargepoint account…
just had a thought…
ChargePoint has been around for a very long time and their business consists of a few "types of chargers"
public access commercial chargers: parks, businesses, hotels, malls, etc…
they residential offerings
they "host/install" EV chargers for other businesses (many...
see here for screen shots of activating a chargepoint session via the myPorsche app…

ok I set this up and charged @ a local L2 ChargePoint station in my local area - here is what I learned…
Question: what is this?
Answer: June 2024 (yes almost a year ago) Porsche and Chargepoint announced Porsche Charging Service integration. The announcement was vague then, and now that we...
I've confirmed _NO_ - there is no standard for Porsche to adopt that supported Plug&Charge for multiple separate charging networks - right now we are all limited to EA for North America - EVGo supports plug&charge via vehicle ID using the embedded "mac address" provided as part of the CCS1...
moved to it's own thread - response is now a FAQ!
https://www.macanevowners.com/forum/threads/faq-what-does-chargepoint-integration-to-myporsche-app-gain-me.20947/
not sure how it allows "plug&charge" - charge point chargers will not release the charging cord until you've activated a session…the cords are "locked" to the charging stall until you've "activated" the station where you're parked - the only way to do that is via the Chargepoint app or an RFID...
even with Taycan integration w/apple maps pre-conditioning the battery for fast charging is _NOT_ supported via non-Porsche navigation - but again this is not always necessary.
for anyone curious about tracking a car - and want to spend a pleasant day at world Renown Laguna Seca Raceway - here is a low cost, low effort, low risk way to track your Macan (or any other car) with out the risk or wear and tear!!
Come out and have some fun...
this is a great write up and consistent with my experience at PECLA and PECATL - the 4S/Turbo are going to be similar other than "raw power" - eventually I feel a GTS Macan EV will be the "sweet" sport between the 4S and the Turbo
my Turbo is great and I'm happy so far.
my observed behavior is as follows:
2021 Cayenne Hybrid - departure time set for 7 am - car starts to charge "just in time" to "hit" the departure time - i.e. it may wait until 5 am to start charging to achieve 7 am depature time
2020 Taycan Turbo - same as Cayenne
2024 Macan Turbo - it will...

but this is the key picture - starting point 10%, current when pic was taken SOC @ 80% - elapsed time 26 min
my money is on Porsche EVSE - the North American versions just continuously has problems - many many many Taycan owners gave up on Porsche EVSE's and moved onto any of many excellent high quality alternatives.
the Porsche unit offers no advantages and many downsides…cut your loses and move on.
