My understanding is it takes both HW & SW. Given the way it’s packaged now, at least on paper, you either have it or you don’t. Not very helpful I know… but I had the same question and that’s what I was told.
It depends on where it’s going in the US. Mine through Panama Canal then up to San Diego. Left Emden Germany on 1/27 and got to San Diego on 2/23. There were no other port stops along the way. So nearly a month on the ship!
Looks fantastic, congrats! Mine arrived at the port on 2/23 and is ready to be transported to the dealer. As with others, it’s been a long wait… Hope it gets there soon. Enjoy your beautiful new 4S!
I’m in the same boat… My 4S is almost to Panama then has to go to San Diego to clear customs then transport to Arizona. I started looking at local on the ground inventory as a backup as i won’t pay the extra tax if it happens… I’m keeping my fingers crossed that none of us have to deal with...
Just checked my VIN and it has an “S” in the 10th position. It was built in December per my SA. Despite all this we have not been able to answer the OP question.
I ordered mine in September and if I recall correctly my SA said the change over was in November. The vehicle was released in the US in September as model year 24 so that kind of makes sense.
Just a thought… Do Porsche dealers get paid for doing the updates? I’m guessing yes. OTA takes the dealer out of the equation which is not the traditional dealer model.
I believe it locked in Oct, built late Nov/early Dec, at port Dec, on ship Jan 27. It was somewhat difficult getting precise info from the dealer. I was originally told it should arrive ~Jan 15. Now, my realistic estimate is mid March. A long wait…
My first post here… Congrats, it’s beautiful!
I’ve got an Ice Gray 4S on order and it should have been here but just learned it was scheduled to ship January 8th.
