    Macan Turbo EV real range?

Curious about any tips you can share! The Macan is my first EV, and so far range has been a non-issue (I charged at 80%, drove 200 miles and was left with 15% arriving home) but we have a winter trip planned, I feel like it's going to be different.

How do you guys wash your cars?

Agreed! PPF may make a tiny difference when trading in, because the car is probably going to be in better condition than the average trade-in, but it won't be enough to compensate for the PPF you paid ?

ICE GREY Macan EV Photos Thread

Aside from the dent in my bank account, the car looks a little shinier and stays that way longer. Mostly did it to protect the paint from deep stains.

Here is mine, with front PPF, ceramic coating, tinted side lights, and emblems removed.

Haha same thing, I have the 21" design wheels, and I agree the 22" RS Spyder look best! In the next one, I guess!

How do you guys wash your cars?

I used to live in SF (now in NYC), and had trouble finding a good detailer. I've seen the result of average car washes on friends' cars and now I know there is a reason why good detailers are expensive ? IIRC that's the one I settled on: https://www.autobodydetailspecialist.com Looking at the...

    Pet peeves

I love the G-forces one, even in a 911 it's useless while driving. And it took them years to let you configure the diamond button to skip to the next track, so I'm not holding my breath here ? Actually, another related pet peeve: you can't configure the diamond button to change suspension...

    Pet peeves

Indeed @PSPJames, I also thought that was a Macan EV issue, but a contact at Porsche told me this bug had been around for years. The good news is it seems to go away on its own, but this (among other things) says a lot about their ability to ship good software. I can still confidently say that...

    Pet peeves

Thank you! I didn't know re: 80%. I've rented lots of EVs (mostly Teslas), but it's the first one I own, so maybe a newbie thing ?

    Pet peeves

I've had my '24 Turbo for a few weeks now, and I love the car: it's nimble, precise, fun to drive, and it has more range than I need. Most of the issues I've encountered are software-related, and hopefully will go away soon. Just wanted to make a list in case I'm not the only one. Privacy mode...

Dashcam installation issues -- fuse box location?

My installer did run into the same issue (only found active wires), and called me to ask if I had paid for the pre-wiring of the OEM dashcam (I haven’t). He eventually found the accessory power, but he didn’t tell me how he did it. He did say that testing took a long time because the car...

Porsche App can be improved…. A lot!

I've also noticed the charge status to be delayed by a few minutes in the app: I plugged the car, I checked that charging had started, and left. I opened the app 5 min later and despite saying the vehicle state was up-to-date, the SoC hadn't changed. I went to the car and it had changed. I hope...

    Race-Tex steering wheel - experience / reviews?

I've gone back and forth on this. After missing it on my 991 (especially on track/hot days), I spec'd it on my Macan GTS, and liked it, but I was also worried it would not age well. After 3 years it ended up being fine, but it did look flatter on areas where the hands rest a lot. I didn't spec...

What factory tires are on your Macan EV? Satisfied with them?

Sometimes this month I think. Living in NYC, so I don't think I really need them before November.

Own a Taycan - should I switch to Macan?

I've driven the Taycan quite a bit (and love it). I still bought a Macan, because it's a more practical family car, with acceptable trade-offs for a daily driver, and because a fully loaded Macan Turbo is still cheaper than a Taycan with half the options I want ?

What factory tires are on your Macan EV? Satisfied with them?

I spec'd my Turbo with 21" summer tires and received Michelin Pilot Sport EVs. I haven't had the opportunity to really test them yet, but I'd say road noise is slightly higher than I expected. @DuckMan would love to know your impressions of the Michelin Pilot Alpin 5, I'm going to buy them as well.

    iCEing and Dashcams

First time I'm installing a dash cam, for peace of mind, although I have not needed it in the past. I'm not too worried about keying, like @tmrqs said, I live in NYC and haven't seen that happen. I also removed the electric badge so it's relatively hard to know it's an EV. I first looked at the...

Is Fast Charging Bad For Battery Life? -- Engineering Explained Answers the Question

Yup. The Macan EV manual (in the My Porsche app) also recommends keeping the battery between 25% and 50% if idle for long periods of time (2 weeks or more). Not sure it's going to have a visible impact during my ownership of the car, but it's the most optimal way to preserve the battery, it seems.

    This is getting crazy

And because I bought mine in NJ (instead of NY where I live), I'm not eligible for the $500 NY EV rebate.
