I find that hard core Porsche ICE people just don't understand what driving a great Porsche EV does to you.
You just don't even consider ICE an option anymore...
Counterpoint:
This always seems like overkill to me (if you have a good dealer) and something that the detail guys push as the case more than it really is.
Haven’t dealt with dealer for years - because Tesla and Rivian direct.
What is the current lay of the land with Porsche dealers? Anything I should look out for? Expect?
Specifically:
Final Price - Used to clicking and paying. Are they going to try to tack on added charges last minute...
Totally agree with this.
Trying to put a number value on someone's car that they feel passionate about and have a financial interest in, is a no win situation, that doesn't really fit the vibe of the channel.
Hi Dave,
Hi @OutofSpecDave , I think the interesting part of this is: what matters is different across drivers, which leads to how data gets weighted.
For some, heated massaging seats are the most important thing, and other things just don't carry any weight at all.
So you could probably...
I do agree, the VW + Volkswagen (with Amazon backing) is definitely a contender to the Tesla tech throne. They really do have the best mix of EV knowledge (Rivian) and Charging knowledge (Porsche) and ability to scale (Volkswagen) with deep pockets in it for long haul to win (Amazon)
I just don't get the Model 3 and Y love. I mean, they are ok cars.
But if you drive and S or X and then go to a 3 and Y, you can feel the big downsize. They are not the same. And Macan is in the S and X class, or even above.
So I don't know how you compare a 3 and Y to a Macan and Macan...
I almost think that Dave totally forgot this. The trade offs are not that bad compared to other really good factors you get. I mean that’s why he ordered it and that’s why his wife loves it.
Those things need some points!
When a model 3 is scoring 20 points higher than the Macan, something is seriously wrong with the scoring system or the evaluator.
I think maybe he is putting too much weight on some aspects of EVs while not having enough weight or maybe even missing things that are the reason you want a...
I get your mechanical engineering point of view but…
I don’t know. I’m at the point where I have no interest in ultra high end ICE cars, because it’s still just an old engine in them, whereas I’d be totally into an ultra high end EV, which is why I love the Taycan Turbo GT.
I actually can’t...
I always am amazed when I see people driving expensive new ICE cars when crazy great EVs exist.
I mean you got the money… why have something so inferior?
Especially now that the Macan EV exists and is amazing. How can you even consider ICE an option?
It’s nuts.
When people ask why the world is broken right now, this is what I point out.
Social networks figured out how to monetize the extremes.
The extremes monetized better than reasonable rational reality.
Now only the extremes exist.
I'm actually surprised the car review ecosystem is as balanced as...
