Picked up my 4S tonight. MF was .0035 or .00383 buying out the $1095 lease acquisition fee. Since I said my plan was to pay off the car in 3 months, the dealer recommended I go with the higher MF. It bumped my payment $20/month.
I reached out to Porsche and they said Track Your Dream isn't available. I had to stay in communication with my SA to get updates on the vehicle progress.
Barry... me too! My order was "released for transport" Friday so the dealer said it may arrive today or tomorrow depending on how many trucks they have going at the moment. Then the fun begins!
I think this is another great example (especially for first time non-Tesla EV folks) to do a practice run at EA before heading off on a road trip. That way you can get an expectation of what will/could happen. Thank you for sharing your story so we all could learn!
I just spoke to the dealer I'm working with and asked if the dealer had a penalty if we were to buyout the lease early. He said they get charged back if I don't make three full payments. That's fine with me! I'm attaching the residual calculator I found on another website, which seems to be...
So strange! I put a calendar reminder about the freeze date so I wouldn't forget. Then a week before the freeze date my SA reached out and reminded me it was last call for any changes. You can ping your SA and they will provide the boat name and the VIN (which I requested so I could check...
I think my car missed the original boat too. Once it did leave Emden, my SA sent me the name of the ship so I could track it. We are through the Panana Canal and headed to the states!
I had the Sport Chrono package in my Taycan but never used it. In our Cayenne, we have the compass instead of the Sport Chrono which I prefer. I built the Macan with the compass.
I agree... I will miss the under trunk space in the Model 3 (and the Taycan). I could fit my grcery bags perfectly in the hole and they wouldn't slide around. However our Cayenne doesn't have it so I guess I'll just work it out. I would have ordered full leather if I could get it in chalk...
Down here, we pay 23 cents per kwh at off-peak pricing. That means it would cost $23.00 for a "full tank." Plus we have solar so in theory, I'm charging the car off the sun. Is a gas car more convenient? Of course... but there are some fantastic positives they just can't touch.
My 4S is scheduled to leave on Friday. The SA said he would send me the name of the ship so I could track it. Original delivery date was 12/20 and pushed back to 1/2/25.
Daveo4EV, I've enjoyed your posts and watching your journey across country. You have more courage than I would. Thank you for allowing us to follow your adventure!
Looks like my 4S may be delayed a couple of weeks. Per the SA, the car is at the port in Germany for shipping, which is scheduled for 11/29. Original delivery date was estimated at 12/20, then moved up to 12/13, and per the update I requested today, back to 1/2/25.
I have a Model 3, which I do like a lot. It felt zippier and more nimble than my base RWD Taycan. We have a Cayenne e-hybrid now which is just too big (although it is FANTASTIC on road trips). I think the size of the Macan is going to be just perfect.
