Was at my local IKEA and was just starting to back out when I got hit with an assistance error warning. That in itself was not a surprise (which is terrible to say) but to the fact that the reverse camera didn’t turn on was. Anybody have that happened to them? I tried “locking and walking” method and came back 30 mins to no avail. Thanks in advance

Book your car in for the major software upgrade which is now available and should address most if not all of these false positive notifications. I had this error on a new demo and it eventually went away. Can also be due to dirty or moisture laden sensors / camera (windshield)

The camera may be ok rather than have a fault. Give it a few hours after locking to see if sorts itself out.

My rear camera and warnings did not work and sure enough someone backed into my new Macan 4, Took it to dealer who did major software update and that fixed the warnings and view. I still get odd messages around Assist not working,...

Dam sorry to hear. Just to be clear did you cameras black out like my above photo as in there was no picture at all?

Its funny because a few weeks ago, every time i threw it into reverse, an Assistance Error would pop up but the camera would work fine. However, the sensors would not work at all and there was no more "beeping" when you approached something slowly. Frankly it was kind of nice ... but i disgress. Took it into the shop where they "fixed" it.

Now the opposite seems to have occurred. The error still pops up but the cameras are completely blacked out but i get the sensors working and beeping loud and clear. Super weird.

The backup camera is a federally mandated safety feature, so you should absolutely complain to the dealer and, possibly, to the NTSB.
If it happens again, consider investigating lemon laws in your state.

lemon law in NM is that if whatever the issue is, is still not working after third time in shop for same thing, it's a lemon, can give it back. So far, my car has been fixed each time, but being out of warranty eventually may be a concern. Ty

I could see a blurred camera pic, not a black out, but could not hear assisted sound warnings

Well, if it's a safety problem, you should take it to the dealer right away.

Most lemon laws have some "maximal time in shop" limits (California it's 30 days) so if they can't fix the safety problem until end January, that would be an automatic lemon buyback, if that's what you want.

Or you live with the glitch and call it good enough.
