My wife is the quintessential slow driver. Never had a speeding ticket; and, but for an overly zealous, young military police soldier 45 years ago, no ticket at all (she was cited for a “rolling stop” on a 25-mph street 🙄). Fast forward, when we were looking to replace her Audi Etron last year, I truly thought I should have recommended a Mercedes EV to her, as it would be a better match for her driving style, but she ended up with a CPO Macan 4. Fast forward again …

She had her electric Porsche Macan in for the latest software update, and was given a gasoline Macan loaner for a day. When she came home, she said, “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but that car is slow. I wasn’t impressed with it.”

I guess even the slow drivers love electric torque.

I’m wondering if others have had a similar (or different) experiences with family members?

yeah same. I've had my car in for service twice (software udpates). The first time i got a Taycan, which was my first time driving one. That damn car is too low and hard to get in....
Next time i got a '25 Macan 4 ICE and that thing was sluggish.... It seemed that it was upshifting super early and staying in a high gear to help with gas efficiency. There was a sport button IIRC, and that would keep the car in a low gear for way too long....
It made me appreciate the XAB much more. The interiour is better, the infortainment is better, handling, power, camera's...like there was nothing about the ICE i liked over the EV.

I dont want to offend anyone but IMHO , I was given a petrol Turbo Macan as a loaner. If you are looking for smooth but fast, a BMW X3 diesel with the straight 6 and 8 speed auto is way better, 2 turbos, slow and fast, better drive technology, the engine and gearbox work seamlessly, nicer place to sit, etc.

I love my Macan 4, but I was really not taken with the ICE version.
