I haven't seen much discussion about PTV+ option specifically on the Macan EV platform. What is everyone's take on this option? Is PTV+ more or less beneficial on a electric SUV (as compared to ICE)?
I've seen quite a bit of discussion here in one of the threads. I've read here that PTV+ has a benefit on slippery surfaces as the std rear diff is open. My SA tells me that just about everyone that specs rear wheel steering also specs PTV+. He would encourage PTV+ if you also spec rear stearing.
I feel that in Europe you will see much more rear wheel steering that PTV. It is much more common to navigate around small parking lots or tight corners than it is due drive on loose underground.
And even without PTV you will most likely do fine. I did not order it in Switzerland, but definitely got RWS.
RAS - I did option that right away. I drove 2 macans back to back (where one had RAS and the other did not) and it was very noticeable. The car felt a lot smaller and more precise with steering.
PTV+ - I spent a lot of time going back and forth on this one. Ultimately I did not spec it because I don't see myself using it much. I live in Chicago where we don't have back and forth sweeping roads that can take full advantage of PTV+. My decision might be different if I lived on the east or west coast.
Edit: I also looked at the available 4s models on order in USA (~330 units) from which only 6 had PTV+ optioned. Just providing additional data.
