Macan GTS EV in UK not compatible with Octopus intelligent go. How do I set a charge timer in the car?

Picked up the Macan GTS on Friday and can’t add it to the Octopus account as a replacement for my BMW iX (says it’s not compatible!)

I’ve found out how to set a ‘charge by’ timer in the car but can’t work out of if I can set a ‘start charging’ timer so it starts when the cheap rate electricity kicks in.
Anyone know if it’s possible?

my Rolec Zura dual charger won’t set charger periods dispite it supposed to doing so (it never has in the 2 years I’ve had the charger).

The charging concept works on a departure time only.

You can direct charge to charge straight away.

You can set a minimum charge level which will charge straight away until that levels is reached.

You can configure optimised charging to take advantage of known off peak periods.

All of the above is achievable via the PCM or My Porsche app.

Until you learn more about the Octopus set up (trawl the forum) then set your EVSE to dumb mode - disable any programming and program only via the PCM or My Porsche app.

With some research you most likely can get your Octopus arrangement configured correctly.

Meantime I encourage you to read the Owner's Manual and quickly get up to speed on the basics.

I had to make my MY26 Turbo “act dumb” so that Octopus Energy could communicate with my Andersen A3 charger and enable Intelligent Octopus Go.

It might be an MY26-specific issue, as my friend’s MY25 Turbo appears to work with Intelligent Octopus Go as expected.

Some models of the Macan EV were shown as compatible with Intelligent Octopus Go whilst some were shown as not being compatible. I raised a query with Octopus last month and they amended the initial check shown on the IOG product page to show all Macan EV models as being compatible.

However, having now taken delivery of my car, when I attempted to connect my GTS under devices, it was shown as not being compatible. A query was therefore raised with Octopus who have referred the matter to their product team. I’m hoping to hear back today.

Can’t guarantee but you could try the optimised charging in the departures on the app

To set the timer from the car to charge from 11:30 - 5:30 just set a departure timer and select Optimised Charging (manual) to set the above time. Should then charge within that time period provided that is sufficient to get the car to desired percentage by the set time.

But a thought on Octopus - can you select another Macan model that is accepted by the App - I wonder if they’re actually any different and it’s just that Octopus haven’t certified the GTS yet. Might be worth a try.

I would hold fire for a couple of days. As I mentioned above, the GTS has been referred to the Octopus product team to look at adding the model. They normally reply within a couple of days.

Setting up a manual charge as mentioned above will not fulfil the IOG T&C's which specify the need for one smart charge per month. Ideally, the GTS will be added to the list of compatible cars but if not, then would be the time to look at instead adding the car as another Macan variant.
