Macan EV online search demand is growing

I know there's a lot of talk in the media and ICE Porsche communities around "lower than expected Macan EV demand." But when you look at search interest in the Macan, there's no denying that there's a lot of interest in the vehicle.

According to Google Trends data, consumer search interest in the Macan lineup is surging to all time highs thanks to the introduction of the EV variant.

The *only* interest that matters in this context, is dollars-into-coffers. And I would expect Porsche to have a pretty accurate way of measuring those....

I completely agree. Interest doesn't equal sales.

I suspect there's plenty of window shopping inflating that search demand from folks like me waiting for pricing to come down on the EVs — due to depreciation, model year trade ins, or the electric Cayenne hitting the road.

Part of me wonders if sales would have been higher on the electric Macan if the price was the same as the ICE model. Or if that would have made no difference.

It's also worth noting that even though the EV price is higher, it also comes standard with air suspension and a panoramic sunroof which are optional on the ICE.
