Had this problem pop-up 3 weeks ago . The auto-close function on the phone charging flap has given up and refuses to close - this despite it pretty much never being used (and left in the closed position).

Went to the dealer and was told that they also had another 3 cars that had this issue (2 customers’, one demo unit). Part itself apparently is on back-order from Germany / which means that it seems to be a ‘known’ issue and I’ve been told that it might be due pending a part revision.

What is amazing to me is that just that flap mechanism comes as a single-unit with the wireless charging unit itself. If the part fails (as it has with mine), it means the entire unit must be replaced - but also means that the entire centre console area (climate control and grab handles) must be removed as well to facilitate the fix - risk of scratching the trim/leather seems high.

Throwing it out there - wondering if any other have encountered such an issue with their vehicles?

At delivery, my USB panel in the rear was not attached correctly. The hardest part of the fix was getting the documentation from Germany on how to access that area correctly to be able to put the center console back together correctly. Just took a few minutes once they had it available!

Unfortunately for this phone charger cover issue, Service team has confirmed that they'll need to strip the centre console - apparently the tricky bit will be not to damage/scratch the leather on the grab handles....

Let's see what happens when the part arrives...

Honestly, this is the only problem I had this far with the car. I have not been back to the dealer or any Porsche dealer since I took delivery in Nov. 2024. ~16000km.
I was thinking to let them look at mine when I have to take the car in anyway at some point for a software update later the year or if something else comes up. Although having them to remove the whole center console I might just leave it as mine is just in the open position most of the time anyway.

I’m kinda aligned with your thinking tbh - since taking delivery in late Feb, this has probably been the only ‘actionable’ item that I’d want fixed under warranty (eventually) - the only other minor issue being a minor squeak somewhere in the rear c-pillar at delivery that was/is intermittent but doesn’t warrant an entire tear-down on the interior that would most probably introduce more rattles/squeaks.

Like you, the cover now lives in the open position (thankfully doesn’t rattle). Again, we’ll see when the part arrives before I make a decision on when to install (hopefully a revised part. The comment on needing extra care to not scratch the leather on the sides of the grab handles did concern me (leather scratches = super bad) - I’d want my service team to practice on as many other cars first before getting to mine :whew:
