Second this, the filter makes a pretty noticeable difference to the video, both front and rear. It also is quite aesthetically pleasing, it gives the appearance of the dashcam having fancy optics, and given where it's mounted it is quite visible. Well worth it just for the style points alone...
shouldn't be that, its not that far in. the plastic one is more flexible, so you might have to push harder, but it should still work. my only guess is that you are maybe going in too shallow and hitting the rim below the switch. a large Flathead screwdriver might work, or a blunt butter knife
Can confirm, I have an older turbo as well, sept 24 build date, no turbo logo in the dash. Note that the cruise control speed shows in that spot if you have it enabled, so maybe your example is just a photoshopped marketing image? Nevermind, just saw a 26' GTS review, and it shows GTS there...
Yeah it seems so, such low hanging fruit to implement for them too. I bet the feature was to make the car exactly as spec'd, which I can see getting expensive to do. Letting users set the color themselves would just not be correct.
Interesting, the fitcamx Audi ModelA and the Porsche ModelA seem to be identical, as that filter says it's for the audi one. Will definitely pick these up, they seem to make a significant improvement. Thank you.
I just did a write up on the fitcamx that should tell you all you need to know : https://www.macanevowners.com/forum/threads/fitcamx-dashcam-install.25513
Thanks! I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on a new version. They basically have no competition in this space except for the aliexpress dashcams (which are essentially the same product). The only change they've made in 10 years has been to add 4k. I am pretty sure they are just uploading...
Appreciate that! Looks clean, but you got me thinking. Looking back at my install photo above it looks like it could be mounted directly on the top plastic trim. Where it gets a little thicker off center, right up against the glass instead of on the glass. So back out to the garage, and it...
The blackvue is better as a dashcam no question, I just wanted something discreet that works. Personally I'm amazed porsche hasn't come up with a built in solution that just uses the cars cameras like tesla, it's such low hanging fruit. Android automotive I think even has built in dashcam...
Thanks! Given how easy to was to run the rear camera wire, It should be just as simple to run the fuse tap wire fitcamx sells to the passenger footwell fuse box. you could leverage the same 5A fuse for BATT as the prewire, and would just need to identify an ACC source. Worst case the rear...
I just got around to installing the fitcamx into my macan ev using the porsche factory dashcam prewire connection. While I was researching for this I didn't see a proper write up for the macan ev, the post about the '25 cayenne on rennlist was useful, while also misleading. Having specifics...
This thread has been super helpful. For those of you considering a FitCamX that have the factory dashcam pre-wiring, FitCamX actually has adapters that let you directly plug into the prewiring. When ordering the FitCamX they reached out to confirm my car model, and as an aside in my reply I...
Firstly, this is amazing thank you. But also why in the world would the pre-wire location for the rear camera be all the way down the side of the luggage compartment and not run up to the top of the trunk lid where the camera actually goes. In the 24 cayenne it is run to the trunk lid based...
