Same experience here... my 2015 model s had instant heat (one of the few things it did well) but my 4s takes several minutes (similar to cabin heat in an ICE vehicle). As noted heated seats and wheel help, also trying to use scheduled preconditioning and remembering to use the app when away...
No regrets at this point... the 4S is plenty quick for me. I didn't test drive a 4, so can't speak to whether or not I would have been happy with it (although my guess is "yes").

Does ACC (without Innodrive) recognize and adjust speed with sign recognition? I don't think it does, but just checking to see if it's an option I just haven't turned on...

Good point! I have been using regen in city and off on highway... more fun while sailing down the canyons... I have it mapped to the "diamond" button on the steering wheel.
