Porsche dealer wants piles of money to fit dashcam - yet it's pre-wired?

Have you consulted an attorney, and/or just file one small claim at a time, one per repair done with 3rd party which should have been covered by warranty (if the manufacturer shows up in court, you argue yourself, if they don't show up, default judgement each time - unlikely the car manufacturer...

Porsche dealer wants piles of money to fit dashcam - yet it's pre-wired?

I've heard stories about voiding warranties for years, but we have the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act in the US that protects consumers, so they would have a hard time defending such claims. Secondly, my personal experience modifying cars, as long as you give the dealer a way to disconnect or remove...

Porsche dealer wants piles of money to fit dashcam - yet it's pre-wired?

You can install Blackvue dashcam using Porsche pre-wire, which will record while parked. https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/illustrated-guide-to-using-dashcam-prewire-for-3rd-party-dashcam-and-other-accessories.19743/ Note, I have the DR900X-2CH installed in my Taycan via the Porsche...

[FAQ] - EV Chargers - common misconceptions - what is an EVSE?

They don't make smaller, lighter, more cable and easier to use EVSEs in the rest of the world? Oh wait, you did say solid as a rock (I am paraphrasing) ;)

[FAQ] What exactly does the AR HUD do? [Augmented Reality Heads-Up Display]

@daveo4EV , some of the things you mention as "new" have been present on the non-AR HUD of the Taycan, such as navigation information (actually more detailed than PCM on my Taycan). I don't remember if lane selection shows up, but 75% it does (my Taycan decided it wanted to spend the holidays...

From Reservation to Reality: My Journey with the Porsche Macan Turbo EV

Congrats on the new car! I test drove Macan Turbo EV recently and was quite impressed. Porsche is definitely making progress in the EV scene. If they had them available a year earlier (and had available allocations), one would be in my garage today next to the Taycan. If you want to feel better...

I thought maybe you walked away with a Turbonite hood ornament or a Porsche mug. ;)

My Macan EV Turbo PPF & Ceramic Coating video

I wonder why that is even optional. Removing the emblem shouldn't take but a couple of minutes (2 plastic nuts). I figured all PPF installers would do it for ease of installation.

    1000 miles in my Turbo

US people and Canadians are all (North) Americans and friends too, but it doesn't mean they have identical car regulations.

    1000 miles in my Turbo

They make exceptions all the time, check out North American cars, or even US vs. Canadian cars. Some of those are not even just software (e.g. Canadian vs. US seatbelt latches).

    1000 miles in my Turbo

Or the UK regulators just think the same as EU regulators, or perhaps just using a lazy approach - copy someone else's work and still get paid. I guess EU regulators have not thought to copyright their regulations. We have a state here in the US which copyrights its own laws, so if you want to...

    1000 miles in my Turbo

OP is in the UK, no EU overlords dictating car features (including which side of the road to drive on, or which seat should have the steering wheel ;)). This must be the local UK regulations.

[FAQ] - kWhs flying south for the winter - where do they go? Why do EV's take such a big "hit" in cold weather…new owner overview

I wasn't suggesting using timers on DC, just DC charge while battery still hot, then park at your hotel, set a timer to preheat the car in the morning (from battery), then drive to DC charger to top off if you need max range. If you set a departure time, it will start early enough to preheat -...

[FAQ] - kWhs flying south for the winter - where do they go? Why do EV's take such a big "hit" in cold weather…new owner overview

The main mitigation for cold weather EV driving is to plan ahead and preheat your car and its battery from shore power prior to departure. Shore power can either be AC EVSE or DC charger. That's what departure timers are for. This will extend your range as the car starts with an already warm...

[North American] - Macan does NOT support 11 kW charging??? Home / Residential charging update (using Tesla Universal Wall Charger)

Perhaps reach out to YouTubers/reviewers to get some more exposure to it, they even be able to get an official response from Porsche.

[North American] - Macan does NOT support 11 kW charging??? Home / Residential charging update (using Tesla Universal Wall Charger)

It might seem like just a red herring, but consider thisL a 3 phase connected EU Taycan with an upgraded onboard charger can charge at 22kW, but in NA on a single phase only 19.2KW. 2.8kW difference between EU and NA, on a 22kW the difference you are seeing is exactly half (11kW-9.6kW = 1.4kW)...

[North American] - Macan does NOT support 11 kW charging??? Home / Residential charging update (using Tesla Universal Wall Charger)

If that someone is the guy who sized the charge port wiring for NA cars, it's not easily fixable.
