Dealer finally came back with this note. They seem to think it’s due to my home charger not properly connecting to the car. I have a Gen 2 Tesla wall charger with the TeslaTap dongle. I do notice that the dongle sometimes pulls out of the cable slightly. I always make sure it’s in firmly, but...
I had the same warning last week and took it in to the dealer. They came back with this yesterday:
“Drove vehicle into shop, no warning lights present. Performed pre val - found code B17E0F0 - Charging socket 2 (UX5), charging plug not locked as a current code. Charged vehicle and code became...
I just have the end time setup. Seems to work fine. I should try your approach as well, though PG&E charges the same rate until like 9am depending on time of year.
Thanks, gents. I tried turning the car off and on a couple times, including getting out of the car, but the message persisted. I was able to drive it to the dealer (not too far), so we'll see what they say about it. Thanks for the quick replies.
got in my car this morning and was greeted with this message. Anyone else seen this? The car seems to drive, but not sure that’s advisable. Is it safe to drive? Waiting for my SA to call me back…
This is a common issue. If you search Plug and Charge in the forum you’ll find detailed instructions. But basically you have to a) make sure your My Porsche app is up to date, b) do a factory reset while you have a clean Verizon signal (car uses their network), give it some time to register with...
If you have departure settings setup, then the car won’t charge until it thinks it needs to in order to be ready for your departure time that day (unless it’s below the minimum percentage…can’t remember what that is, 25%? But then it will stop at the minimum and wait to charge the rest till...
Oh, well I think that may be the issue. If you don’t have departure settings setup, then the car will just charge or attempt to charge as soon as you plug it in, regardless of whether Direct Charging is on or not (think of Direct Charging as an override for when you have Departure settings...
I agree. I owned 2 Model S’s before moving on to the X, and was never tempted by the Taycan (poor relative range, slow/buggy tech, washed out stylish compared to the prototype), but I love the Macan EV. Better than any Tesla I’ve owned or driven by a mile. Just my two cents.
Yeah, I was concerned they might fall out, but I was able to do 2 turns and they are secure. Saved me a trip to the dealer. I'm guessing at some point they may do something that's a better fix, but for me, I stopped thinking about it now.
I simply meant that how much or little you screw them back in may be different for your car. For me, I found two turns to be perfect, and I've not had any issues since then.
Yes. It’s necessary to turn this on when you need to charge ad hoc. But if you want the scheduled charging to work, you need to make sure it’s turned off again.
There have been several reports that the electric charge ports are unreliable. You can’t manually open them? You should be able to do that (as long as the car is unlocked)
