    PPF / Ceramic

I also have the off-road package and can confirm that my installer (Xpel) did have the painted parts that you mentioned covered. Parts were also templated and pre-cut for fitment.

Full PPF wrap and now that...

Man that really bites @BigApple… Really sorry to see that. Just to be clear, you had PPF on the headlights as well? I guess there’s a limit to which PPF can protect (especially glass areas). Many years back, I had a similar incident with our Merc W204 - car was <6 months old. Fog lamp was only...

    Wheel arch extensions

Man, thanks @krissrock for the breakdown and the great pics! šŸ†Am sure this will help anyone looking to embark on the same retrofit! But yes, I totally agree to your point that it’s curious why they went with two distinct fenders given the relatively minor change in tyre width - would have...

    PPF / Ceramic

For me was mainly for the peace of mind and trying to keep the car looking as good as possible against ā€˜general’ wear & tear. As a first-timer (PPF’er) as well, I did a full body (Xpel) and ceramic coat (Xpel Fusion) on top done at showroom prior to delivery. I opted for Xpel mainly because...

Article: Macan EV is an out-of-the-gate sales success

This has got to be the most cynical thread in the forum I’ve seen thus far… all good when viewed in that lens - but a couple of posts had me worried at first (especially from @daveo4EV šŸ˜‚)

Carkey on Audi A6 (PPE), coming next on the Macan?

+1 - we’ve all been holding our breath on this (and other CarPlay features) since discussion last year. Let’s hope this feature does get rolled out to all Macan EVs (including those already delivered) and doesn’t turn out to be an additional hardware dependant or ā€œ2026+ Model buildā€ only type...

    Seatbelt pretension hug

If you haven’t found already - Would assume activating on the seatbelt ā€˜hug’ (part of Proactive Occupant Protection) is the opposite of turning it off. From further down the manual that @cottony screenshot:

    Battery Pack break-in

Thanks for the post @daveo4EV… I tend to agree with your sentiments/comments. Funnily, it seems a common-place practice to tell customers this (I’m in Malaysia). My SA on delivery had also mentioned that I should run the battery down to ~5% then AC charge (not fast-charge) to 80%. Like you I...

Thanks for the call-out @Sirium. Have edited/corrected my most recent post. Apologies for any confusion…

Porsche Electric Sport Sound Get it or not?

Maybe just take a vehicle for a test drive to see how you feel when it’s connected to your driving input. Listening to a flat sound file may/will not give the ā€˜connected’ experience. (I’m pretty sure most/all demo cars will have this option as Porsche it’s a relatively ā€˜easy’ sell for them).

Matrix headlights - program euro settings?

If it makes you feel better, the number of times I’ve ever seen the matrix headlight function activate in my Macan is the grand total of zero. šŸ˜‚ - Having said that, I’ve only done like 220kms in 3 weeks. If it’s anything like our other cars, there’s quite a specific scenario for it to activate...

Porsche Electric Sport Sound Get it or not?

If your budget allows and you think you’ll like/use - then just get it. It’s one of those options that I didn’t configure originally but my SA suggested I just include as it actually involves installation of an external speaker as well (not just sound piped inside). So if you want it later...

Is the AC outlet in the back powered by the traction battery or the 12V?

I’m actually thinking from the angle of a Dashcam (original or otherwise) that is usually tapped into that (12V battery), in parking mode, will drain the 12V to the point it cuts out in a ā€˜low voltage’ state. Would triggering a pre-conditioning (waking the vehicle to run cooling off the Hv...

Is the AC outlet in the back powered by the traction battery or the 12V?

My question would then be - would a remote preconditioning be enough to trigger the same behaviour (ie charge the 12V battery)? Am assuming that HVAC is run off the HV battery, right?

Porsche Dashcam Experience - My Personal Review after ~2 weeks.

I totally agree - with camera/vision/radar systems already built in to the vehicle this absolutely should be the way forward. However as @themacnut has also pointed out (above), system integration, UI/UX hasn’t been one of Porsche’s strongest suits… I guess the beauty with a ā€˜bolt-on’ Dashcam...

    Wheel arch extensions

I know what you mean… it’s a literal rabbit-hole of additional parts to be changed… Conceptually I’d also like to see what coloured fender arches would look like on the vehicle - but suspect it may also be a polarising love/hate thing. Even just thinking about it, I’m not sure whether it would...

    Macan 4S - Sport Chrono Package w/ Push-to-Pass?

+1 for the Chrono ā€˜club’. This is my first Porsche and I much preferred the ā€˜look’ of the dash with the Chrono (personal preference of course). As @W1NGE has posted above, the Chrono ā€˜package’ does give you the ā€˜Sports Plus’ mode (definitely not the ā€˜Push-To-Pass’ button - the SA needs to be...

    Wheel arch extensions

Can’t wait to see your ā€˜build’ photos and results @krissrock! I suspect if it turns out as well as we all suspect, there’ll be a huge back order for the gloss black trim pieces. Having the smooth gloss trim opens up so many more possibilities (for non-turbo models) in terms of colour...

    Under Door Puddle Lights

As @Frankie and others (including myself) have found - the connector is purely dependant on which ā€˜model’ you ordered (10316 vs 10311) with the former (M10316) being like the original puddle light (location of connector being in the middle) - thankfully connectors-types are the same for both...
