Well pleased with this sort of range, now that the weather is better. It was 18C (64F), and while staying at a hotel, I charged to 100% for the first time as it was free charging there.
After driving about 4–5 miles, the app showed pretty good range.
Yes, same tires, but that doesn't mean that renders RWD cars useless/dangerous, as W1NGE often purports them to be ;) Otherwise those 911s mentioned above by @rjf wouldn't be on the roads.
I have been driving RWD cars all my life in UK in mixed conditions, never once had a problem. And, as...
Grand Prix cars are only RWD for a reason.
AI Overview
Formula 1 cars are rear-wheel drive (RWD), and have been since the early years of the sport. While there have been some experimental four-wheel drive (4WD) cars in the past, none have been successful in the FIA Formula 1 World...
As I said before, Porsche has a pedigree of making solid and rather fun RWD cars. And as some have mentioned, for snow and winter, winter tyres are far more important.
@W1NGE does winge about RWD, but here is AI Overview below:

While AWD provides enhanced traction and stability...
Porsche has a pedigree of making RWD sporty cars well.
My previous i4 was RWD too.
Never felt loss of traction at any point in these cars.
Below is an excerpt from What Car when reviewing a 911:
Rear-wheel-drive 911s are slightly more rewarding to drive than the Carrera 4 GTS. That's because...
@Garylaw
RWD version is excellent. 0-60 in just over 5 is not a slouch by any means.
On my test drive, I was given Macan 4, but I find no noticeable difference between the two.
Turbo and 4S would be a beast, I imagine. But this one is good enough for my needs, with a bonus of more range.
Best...
This is a bit low, actually, as I haven't been on a longer trip. This was just doing stop and start errands locally for the last few days.
I often see 400+ range like that on better days ;)
Yes, no notification message is received, if a window has been left open, for instance after parking the car.
But the home screen on the app still gives this information. A green tick in the top left corner means all is good. If red, clicking on it shows what has been left open. Not ideal as...
Good you liked RWD too. I'm sure, like me, many base Macan owners are happy.
It has enough punch.
And no doubt Turbo has even more fun factor. Enjoy your Speedy Gonzales : )
Yes, and Taycan RWD also has good reviews too.
Here is my build, but this now has £1300 price hike as I bought it before the hike.

Now that I have the car and considering some tweak in options that Porsche have done, (a) I would have gone for Extended leather...
I find RWD perfectly good at starting off, with linear acceleration, and doesn't give that neck snapping feeling some EVs do.
Personal preference, of course. And suits me for meagre 20 or 30 mph city driving limits we have in the UK. At other speeds, when I press the foot, it goes.
At Porsche...
@CandianPorsche83
Agreed.
That's exactly what I was told by a Porsche Techy as well.
Doing errands in town driving, regen on is better and on open roads turning it off.
This is what I do and notice it works better for driving as well as recuperation.
