Latest OutofSpec Dave review - not good

IMHO, one of the best and wisest posts I’ve read on this forum. <tips hat> Thank you for writing it.

AVENTURINE GREEN Macan EV Photos Thread

I wasn't in my Macan (which is Oak Green Metallic Neo)—I was in my 718 Boxster. As much as I love my Macan, I think I might have gotten a ticket in that. It was a sunny day and the top was down on the Boxster, so it was looking good. We get a TON of comments on the car, with many (most?)...

AVENTURINE GREEN Macan EV Photos Thread

For those of you who are not aware, Aventurine Green can actually help you dodge speeding tickets. Really! I was pulling out of the street I live on in my 718 Boxster and wanted to get out of the way of a rapidly approaching car, so I juiced the gas a bit. As luck would have it, there was a cop...

Macan EV Charger Cover Flap Not Flush

I have not yet brought it in. I'm waiting on some other parts (winter wheels I ordered) so I can get all the work done at once. As much as I like my dealer's fancy coffee machine, I try to minimize my trips to save time. :) Will post some pics after the work is done.

UPDATE: New My Porsche app version (14.0.2) now available. Fixes generic vehicle image problem

If it won't let you update, that's usually because it's already been updated. You can confirm this by looking for the revision code in the app. You can find it by clicking on the "Account" tab and scrolling all the way down. The latest is v14.25.5 build 384.

Climate Control: Heating Capacity and Impact on Range?

One important thing to be aware of… The Macan has a heat pump. This will consume less energy to heat the car than would a resistive heater. As such, they’re a great technology to have in an EV. The only catch is that they do not work well below a certain temperature. Does the Macan have a...

    Loaded 4S or lean Turbo?

So, clearly the Turbo can be used for pulling stumps out of the ground. The question you need to ask yourself is, "How often am I really going to be pulling stumps out of the ground?"

Any regrets / do-over wishes for your Macan EV specs? …”No Ragrets? Not even a single letter?” …

I didn't spec powered charge port doors because there were quite a few problems with them when I locked in my configuration. I just didn't want to take a chance on what seemed like a pretty minor upgrade. Turns out, the non-powered charge port doors do not have any lighting (which the powered...

    Range with 10% SOC

As I said in my post, "I don't think the behavior we should expect at a low SoC has been well documented/publicized by Porsche" and "The changes in behavior people are noting are pretty significant and should not be introduced to drivers by surprise." Please those statements as the full...

    Range with 10% SOC

One thing worth noting here... According to one of Kyle's early Out of Spec Macan EV reviews, Porsche is reporting a higher percentage of the battery as usable than they have in the past. Porsche says that 95% of the Macan battery is usable while the Taycan—at the time of Kyle's review—stated a...

Lock / Unlock through app (latest version 14.0.1) misleading response.

It IS a lovely thing when you stamp out all the gremlins.

    Headlight Alignment

Yes. It’s to lessen the impact of your headlights on oncoming traffic.

    Surprised by Tow Hitch Cutout

My 4S (took delivery in late December) has this area painted black. I really think it was an oversight in early builds.

Macan 4S vs Taycan ST 4S -- my impressions & review

To be fair to Porsche here, the option to raise/lower the car on entry/exit is about much more than just that. Porsche Active Ride (the option we’re discussing) is a very sophisticated suspension management system that uses active control of a very fast-reacting air suspension to control vehicle...

UPDATE: New My Porsche app version (14.0.2) now available. Fixes generic vehicle image problem

I think you may be confusing the Control Center with widgets—the My Porsche app supports both. To add the control to your Control Center, follow these steps… Swipe down from the top right of your iPhone screen to reveal the Contol Center Click the “+” button (top left) Click the “Add a...

Lock / Unlock through app (latest version 14.0.1) misleading response.

There's something amiss with that version number you're seeing. I have the same number within the app (at the bottom of the "Account" tab): 14.25.3 build 382. However, if you go into the App Store, it indicates that the latest rev (which I have installed) is 14.0.1. Not sure what's up here.

    Carplay and Wifi conflict

Too reiterate what PruydentOcean said and expand on it a bit... CarPlay depends on connecting to a WiFi that is created by the car itself. So, when you connect your car to your house's WiFi, you defeat that. When your car disconnects from the house WiFi (i.e., when you drive away), it restores...

Macan EV recall in US - headlights may shine too bright (2,941 units affected)

I guess I dodged a bullet when Porsche NA performed this update when my car was at the port of arrival.
