My Audi GT / J1 had sensitivity settings for the collision warning/emergency braking, but the Macan does not.
And, boy, is the collision warning sensitive! I haven't had a false positive braking yet, luckily, but the red circle and chime is a constant menace, and the only settings that can be...
I get the feeling I didn't sufficiently clearly communicate the advice.
Here's the clearer version (which is free advice, so, do with it as you wish):
"No matter what result you get out of the dealer, unless you're looking for a lot of headache for essentially zero gain, involving any kind of...
100% charge, driving 55 mph (90 kmph) in reasonable temperature, on 20 inch wheels, I can probably do >320 imperial miles in the Turbo. (I haven't done this at the full length, but this is what the math says.)
Cold weather, 75+ mph, hilly terrain, not wanting to stay at 100% charge ... 250...
My rule of thumb is to not involve a lawyer unless:
1. you're 100% certain you're right (seems you are in this case!)
2. there's at least $100k of recovery possible (seems unlikely in this case!)
3. you're not interested in remaining on good terms with the dealership (I don't know what your end...
Yeah, sales can do nothing after the fact. This is a branch manager kind of thing (or general manager.)
And, no, customer service vehicles are not intended to be available for arbitrary use. You don't have liability coverage for other people, for example.
The service may use the car for road...
I agree with the suggestion to add thermal/noise insulated windows, and probably 20" rims so you get more insulation in the tires. I have both options, and the ride is nice and quiet. Certainly no worse in loudness than my son's Polestar 2.
I did something similar for my underbody glow. It runs a Teensy4 microcontroller, and uses the ADC to control light brightness.
It's hooked up to the rear 12V outlet wiring (tapped in behind the panel) and I use the "13V or below -- ignition off" to tone down the lights to half brightness.
I...
I made a similar transition -- Audi e-tron GT (also J1 platform) to Macan.
I really do miss the rock stable hugging the road, but I don't miss the super-low front or the two-speed transmission or low entry/exit at all.
Also, I made a different color/performance choice, but, to each their own :-)...
I agree that you have to manually park, because the margins needed for the park assists are much bigger than what's actually available around here, and I can squeeze into available spaces much better than the automation. I also learned driving on a stick (VW Golf GTI, baby!)
High-beams, rear...
I think this depends more on the dog than on the car. As said above -- the half-way-up position of the rear seats can help with boot space, but also, my wife always takes the dog in the back seat rather than the trunk of her even-bigger SUV (Volvo XC90) because that's what works for our dog.
How much is the cost of the sensors? I'd probably pay out of pocket, get good documentation, and then file a claim with the roadside company with a 30 days to pay notice. If they don't pay, take them to small claims court (assuming typical US state rules.) Or, if the cost is small enough and the...
There's a special setting for "charge to 25% as soon as you plug in."
I *think* you can turn it off, but maybe I'm mistaken and that was my last car (e-tron GT) and it's just always on for the Macan?
Go check in the charge target settings somewhere -- hopefully you can control it the way you...
The FitCamX install is quite straightforward. A seasoned installer should be able to do it in 30 minutes. They also have YouTube videos for how to do it.
When it's in the 40s and 50s here, it gets warm enough in the first minute.
For window defrost, it's almost instant.
I still use the seat and steering wheel warmer as the faster comfort, though!
