Well, it’s done! I’ve had the car in for the three point recall. I was told that it would take about 6 hours, but the actual work time was only a couple of hours in the end.
The items to be covered were:
1. Replace plastic slide on 3 point seat belt ie passenger side front. This now has a...
It is new, and isn’t greyed out in the UK, so presumably it’s live? Strangely I was on to the local agent on Friday about an update to the sign recognition which has been promised for almost 6 months. They said they now have that update and want the car in - yet again - to install it. My...
Yes I’m still having the problem, I can drive past a speed limit sign and it totally ignores it. I had the upgrade and it made no difference whatsoever. Local agents are at a complete loss to remedy
I’ve only had one update which took 3.5 hours!!, and we’re no better off. It totally ignores road side limit signs and almost defaults to 30mph, I too will not consider another Porsche if this is the standard of the electronics, but this poor state of affairs doesn’t seem to worry Porsche at all
My Macan 4S is absolutely hopeless, it indicates 30 mph randomly and totally ignores roadside speed signs. I had the car back to the dealer last week for the latest update and they were hopeful that this would solve the problem - but it didn’t! - and it took them 3 1/2 hours to achieve that!
As I’ve said above, this happened on my first drive, but subsequently happened a further three times. Finally the main agent took it in and spent 2 hours on it. They said they’d reprogrammed it?
Well to date I’ve not had a recurrence, touch wood!, but I will post if anything happens again...
I wasn’t aware of this facility until I saw your post. Then I went out and tried it, and yes, it worked, the car bleeped several times and then the lid closed. I also found that if you stood too close the rear sensors pick you up and there is a long note and the door doesn’t close!
It happened to me, only the once thank goodness, and I got round it by lowering the window completely and then closing it
I’m getting a bit concerned at the number of faults in the electrics on these cars, and it seems that they affect many cars, not just one.
How strange, mine first did it when I first picked it up, but it has done it again at random some further 3 times. Most frustrating, but it’s going in to the main agent next week so we’ll see what that does.
